It was definitely an Above Average experience having them move my 93-year-old in-laws into assisted living! They came at the exact time requested, were friendly and polite, and fast and efficient. The appointment was only made days prior and it was a smaller move, but they fit us in when we needed them. We totally recommend Above Average Movers!

Thank god for Above Average Movers restoring my faith in the industry after a horrible experience with a different company the day before. Needless to say, I needed to hire new movers and fast, and to find one that would move a safe. I spoke to the owner of this company, he was friendly, personable, and professional, and best of all he understood my urgency and was able to fit me in for the following day. They showed up on time (even a bit early) and immediately got to work hauling the safe up the stairs. They had brought all the materials needed to accomplish this, and did it with carefully to not damage the stairs, floor, and walls. The 3 of them then had the rest of the items we needed moved in the truck unbelievably fast, I’m not sure how they even did it. They then drove straight to the next house and unloaded and put everything in its place with the same care and caution they employed before. Furthermore, all 3 men were very professional, friendly, and even were fun to be around. We shared a few laughs even though they never stopped working. I learned after the move that one of the men owned the business, which was kind of cool to learn that he cared enough to be present for the move and was working just as hard as his crew to make everything perfect for us. Another wonderful surprise was at the end when he hadn’t tacked on a bunch of hidden charges, I paid exactly what he’d told me to expect when I booked the appointment. As long as I live in the Madison area I will always use this company for my moving needs, and will highly recommend them to anyone in need of these services. There should be more than 5 stars! Terry and Cameron navigated two challenging staircases to move a washer and dryer and a heavy sleeper sofa within my house. They were quick, careful, upbeat, and much more than “above average”—they were absolutely outstanding.

Above Average Moving is an excellent moving company and provides top-notch service. The prices are affordable and much better than competitors, and the movers (Terry and Torri for us) are hard working, kind, efficient, and enjoyable. They moved our apartment in record time and took great care of our possessions even in sub zero temperatures and lots of snow on the ground. They were on time and communicated with me very well. Terry, the owner, is professional and friendly and genuinely cares about his work and customers. I highly recommend AAM for your next move!

Tl;dr seems more of a below average moving
The good:
- super nice on the phone, easy to schedule, movers were polite enough
The not so good:
-showed up an hour and a half early - a time I specifically turned down as I had a early morning doctors appointment. I got a call as I was leaving the office they were at my house. This lead to unlabeled boxes, unfinished organizing, and rushing to a less smooth move. In hindsight I should've put my foot down and said no, we are not ready.
-They seemed to only want to move the big stuff?? They went straight for it and I had to ask for other random obviously packed boxes to be grabbed and there was stuff left behind for no explicit reason (1 pic attached, 3 rooms with stuff packed). I was willing to pay for the time (of which they had extra showing up early?), but they were ready to head out asap apparently. Literally newborn in my hands the whole day, they can see I need this bad, bit more of a need than luxury. I also had boxes labeled 'basement' that guess they decided were better upstairs...
Update: never responded to any concern in email, it seems once they get paid and leave they ghost following up. Yet still got the 'we value your feedback' email 🙃 I was ignoring other small issues I figured just come with moving - the damage marks on corners and walls, but yeah annoying me more and more knowing I have those and still had to spend multiple trips grabbing the rest of my stuff. Above Average!?!?! Come on now....Consider renaming 'TOP NOTCH MOVING,' or 'BEST IN CLASS MOVING!!' We had a fantastic experience with this company. We used them once in March 2020. The quote process over the phone was straight forward and they answered the phone when I called for follow up. On moving day they arrived on time!! That's a plus right there. Lawrence and Nate were the movers and they were polite calling me Sir. Woa! They asked permission to use the bathroom and their memory on where stuff goes in the new house was surprising. I couldn't even remember where stuff goes. They worked fast and their rates were fair. I HIGHLY recommend using them and hope you experience the same as we did.
