Unlike some other companies, you have an interest in what your customers think about your service. Therefore you get 1 point for asking my opinion.
This was my third shipment with compas. My first shipment with compas was organized by the company I was working for to bring over some of my belongings from the United States to Italy and this is how I came to learn about compas and their services. Since then, I have satisfactory shipped more items on two other occasions by compas.
The most positive point is that all three times all the items arrived and all were in good condition.
Also, another positive was that fact that compas understood that I was only staying at my parent’s home, to organize the shipment, and I did not have a computer, router, internet service, or a cell phone at my parent’s home in the U.S.; just a telephone landline. They were flexible enough to assist me based on this limitation and make accommodations to ensure that my move was completed with little stress.
Also, at compass I only had to deal with two people, which reduced any miscommunications and made coordination much easier.
One of the negatives with shipping items with any moving company is that one receives calls and emails from other companies and individuals that don’t always identifying themselves. Now-a-days with ID theft being very common, to avoid becoming a victim I should have just ignored the strange calls or deleted the strange emails. But after some investigation on my part, I tracked down that they were associated with compas and my request to ship items to Europe.
Another negative was that not all the coordination I made with compass or East Coast Shipping filtered down to Moving Ahead Services and vise versa. I had to be the continuity person for all three. Otherwise the shipment coordination would have gone wrong. This should not be. The customer should not have to be the coordinator when he hired someone else to be the coordinator.
The bottom line is that for a three shipments all the items arrived and all items arrived in good condition. I would ship items again with compas.Lesen Sie mehr

Before moving day, I received clear instructions about what to do for the import/export paperwork and how to prepare for moving day. The movers came at the appointed time, packed our belongings very well, and filled out the packing lists. I received timely updates about the status of our shipment and handover to the destination agent in the USA. Even given the current disruptions to the global supply chain (summer 2021), COMPAS was able to get our container moved quickly and without extra storage charges. The only surprise charge we had was a shipping line up-charge based on the difference in freight rates from the quote date until the order was booked. But I had heard horror stories of having to pay for weeks of storage in ports and depots; we didn't have to deal with that -- thank you COMPAS!
Our things were delivered and unpacked without any damage to any item. Great work! We are very happy, and would gladly recommend COMPAS for your international move from Germany.
P.S. All of the paperwork was available in both German and English, and the customer service was excellent in English. I valued this a lot, as German would have been more of a challenge for me.Lesen Sie mehr

The people they have sent to pack our household goods were truly careful with everything and loaded our container in a timely and safe manner . [Name removed by Sirelo] was in contact with us the entire time and made sure all procedures were done smoothly .
We definitely recommend them.

A friend who had recently moved from Minneapolis, MN, USA to Munich, DE recommended Compas to us as we prepared for our move from Las Vegas, NV, USA to Vienna, AT. They had had an absolutely wonderful experience with Compas and had no hesitation in suggesting that we contact Compas. We also contacted a couple of other International European-based companies. Compas’ estimate was realistic and accurate. The pick-up, transport, and delivery were handled without any concerns and they kept us informed all during the whole process. We would enthusiastically recommend Compas!

As we had already discussed it would have been good, to give a call to our office on the packing day, in order to avoid these issues. Since you only sent a long email a week later, there is nothing we could do, since the container was already loaded onto the vessel. We are always taking good care of our customers and customer service is very important to our company. A quick phone call could have avoided your frustration instead of a long email a week later. Also you are not mentioning that we did not bill for extra volume. So we did help you the best way we could.
